About this Scholarship:
The Impact BHS Scholarship is for student's in the graduate programs of 1) counseling, 2) clinical psychology, or 3) social work programs. Funding is awarded through various federal, state, and institutional funds to qualifying students

Current Student: Students currently enrolled/taking classes in the graduate programs listed above Master's Student Graduating in Spring 2024: A student who is about to recieve their Master's degree from one of the programs listed above.
Students enrolling in graduate programs in counseling, school counseling, clinical psychology, or social work programs are eligible. The program will cover tuition and mandatory fees, not including books or incidentals for a limited number of students. This scholarship program is competitive and renewable for up to 3 years. Funding is awarded through various federal, state, and institutional funds to qualifying students

I understand this scholarship requires me to be enrolled full-time (9 hours in the Fall and Spring and 6 hours in the Summer), and to work as a licensed counselor or therapist in the Permian Basin for at least three years after graduation. The program will cover tuition and mandatory fees, not including books or incidentals for a limited number of students. This scholarship is for the Spring 2024 semester only, and will not be renewed. Funding is awarded through various federal, state, and institutional funds to qualifying students.
Required Essay
Submission of an essay is a requirement for consideration. Essay must be a minimum of 500 words in length. There is a great need for mental health professionals in the Permian Basin. Because of this, a requirement of this scholarship is to work in the Permian Basin for at least three years as a licensed counselor, therapist, or clinical social worker and actively seek professional Texas Licensure. Please explain your commitment to fulfilling this requirement as it relates to your career goals and explain how this work will address the gap in mental health services and meet the mental health needs within our communities and for underserved populations. Also, please detail any professional or volunteer work you have done in a mental health or a related setting. This is your opportunity to communicate why you are interested in a behavioral health career in the Permian Basin.
