About this Scholarship:
The Impact BHS Scholarship is for student's in the graduate programs of 1) counseling, 2) clinical psychology, or 3) social work programs. Funding is awarded through various federal, state, and institutional funds to qualifying students

Students enrolling in graduate programs in counseling, school counseling, clinical psychology, or social work programs are eligible. The program will cover tuition and mandatory fees, not including books or incidentals for a limited number of students. This scholarship program is competitive and renewable for up to 3 years. As this is a community impact initiative, three years of service as a licensed counselor, social worker, or psychological associate after graduation is preferred, but not required. Required Essay
Submission of an essay is a requirement for consideration. Essay must be a minimum of 500 words in length. There is a great need for mental health professionals in the Permian Basin. Because of this, we encourage all scholarship recipients to seek professional Texas Licensure, as well as work in the Permian Basin for at least three years as a licensed counselor, social worker, or psychological associate. Please explain your commitment to fulfilling this requirement as it relates to your career goals and explain how this work will address the gap in mental health services and meet the mental health needs within our communities and for underserved populations. Also, please detail any professional or volunteer work you have done in a mental health or a related setting. This is your opportunity to communicate why you are interested in a behavioral health career in the Permian Basin.
